Is City Stables Open to the Public?

While City Stales is open to the public, if you are interested in a tour of the facility or have questions about an event, please schedule an appointment or get in touch with us.

May I bring my dog to the property?

Dogs are not allowed at the property at this time.   For more information, please see the Oakland Civil Code link.

Is smoking allowed on the property?

NO! Smoking is not allowed anywhere on the property.

May I ride my bicycle through the property?

Bicycles are not allowed to be ridden through the property.   If you are exiting a trail, please dismount your bike and walk it through the property.

May I pet and feed the horses?

Many of the horses at the facility are privately owned and may have special dietary needs, so they may not receive food or treats during your visit.  If you are interested in getting up close with the horses, please contact us for a schedule of events and opportunities to meet our residents.

Do you have manure or compost available for pick up?

Yes!   We have manure available for pick up.  While we do donate manure to local community gardens and school garden programs, there is always plenty available. If you are interested in picking up a batch, please contact us.   While the manure is free, donations for the upkeep of the property and programs are appreciated, but not required.
